There is a new kind of pest near Kansas homes this summer. Of course, we’re talking about the reportings of Texas Brown Tarantulas near southwestern Kansas and southern Missouri homes this August.
Before you start panicking, let’s look at the facts. Texas Brown Tarantulas are naturally shy and docile, and very rarely interact with humans. They prefer to stick to open grasslands where they feed on small insects and search for a mate.
Though tarantulas generally avoid humans, you are more likely to see one during their mating season, lasting from late August to October.
