At Green Pest Solutions, we’re committed to helping you and your pets live comfortably without fleas! To ensure our treatment is as effective as possible, please take a few important steps before our scheduled service. First, and crucially, ensure your beloved pets receive flea treatment from their veterinarian on the same day or even the day before our home visit.
Inside your home, gather and wash all pet bedding, as well as your own bedding if your pet snuggles with you. Use hot water for washing and leave all beds stripped bare. Clear your floors completely by removing toys, décor, and anything under furniture and in closets, allowing us full access to where fleas love to hide. Thoroughly vacuum all carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture to pick up hair, debris, and those pesky flea eggs and pupae. Remember to empty the vacuum bag outside! For non-carpeted floors, give them a good mop with warm water before our treatment. Finally, everyone, including your treated pets, will need to vacate the premises for at least 3 hours during and after the service, and please avoid using any DIY pest control products beforehand.
Outside, if you’ve noticed fleas, mow the grass in those areas and remove any debris or overgrown plants to let in more sunlight. While outdoor sprays are optional and typically for heavy infestations, focusing on your pet’s favorite outdoor spots is key. We’ll also be in touch in about 20 days for a follow-up to ensure those fleas are truly gone, as one treatment often isn’t enough to break their entire life cycle.
